With over 500 electric delivery vans operating across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, HelloFresh manages the largest refrigerated electric fleet in Europe. More than 95 percent of all deliveries in these countries are made using electric vans.

This transition to electric delivery is made possible through a close partnership with PowerGo. Across the Benelux, PowerGo manages more than 300 charging points at 13 HelloFresh delivery hubs.

Each HelloFresh hub has its own logistical dynamics. Different routes, multiple shifts per day and specific charging schedules require a smart approach. The charging infrastructure is tailored to the needs of each specific hub and designed to grow alongside the expanding fleet.
Paul Sieljes: “PowerGo’s charging infrastructure is seamlessly integrated into HelloFresh’s daily logistics. EVs are charged between delivery shifts, always ready for their next route. In urban areas, EVs operate with many short routes and frequent stops. Therefore, we installed a mix of chargers with varying charging speeds to allow for short but effective stops throughout the day. At more rural hubs, EVs travel longer distances. These hubs are equipped with charging infrastructure tailored to those needs, minimising downtime and ensuring operational continuity.’’
Powered by green and local energy
PowerGo supports HelloFresh’s sustainability goals by working exclusively with green energy. The electricity consumption at the hubs is matched with Guarantees of Origin (GoOs). These are official certificates verifying that electricity is generated from green sources, such as the sun.
The GoOs are issued from Dutch solar parks operated by PowerField, PowerGo’s parent company. As a result, HelloFresh’s deliveries are not only electric, but also linked to green and locally produced energy.
