PowerGo has won another two public tenders in Denmark, giving them a strong presence in the country. In the municipality of Randers, PowerGo will deploy 138 public charging points, spread over 61 locations, and in the municipality of Gentofte, PowerGo will deploy 92 public charging points at 23 different locations.
PowerGo will be the Charge Point Operator (CPO) of all the new charging stations in Randers and Gentofte and will deploy, manage and operate them using the Spirii EV charging platform. Spirii will also provide the charging and payment app, giving the EV drivers easy access to the charging points. The charging stations will be installed by Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
Public charging throughout the municipality
In Randers, located in Denmark’s Central Jutland region, the charging stations are placed in high-traffic locations such as libraries, sports halls, parking lots and near schools. Gentofte is a municipality in the Danish region of Hovestaden. Here the (fast) charging stations are placed at popular locations close to the beach, a train station, a theater and a forest area. The remaining public charging stations are placed throughout the municipality. The charging stations will be powered by 100% renewable energy.
Sustainable driving
Ivo van Dam, Chief Technology Officer of PowerGo: ”This is already the fifth and sixth municipality in Denmark where PowerGo has won tenders for the deployment of public charging stations. We are excited to take these steps together with the municipalities of Gentofte, Randers and our partners, and look forward to making charging and driving an electric car in Denmark simpler and smarter.”
At the end of 2022, PowerGo announced that they’ve won tenders for the installation of public charging stations in the Danish municipalities of Ikast-Brande, Vejle, Vejen and Gladsaxe. With the latest addition of Randers and Gentofte and more tenders to come, PowerGo will build a strong presence as public CPO in Denmark. PowerGo will soon announce more public tenders.
