PowerGo provides charging solutions for popular online supermarket Crisp

PowerGo takes care of the roll-out of electric charging solutions for Crisp, the Dutch and Belgian supermarket app for fresh food. Since this year, PowerGo has been providing charging solutions for the electric logistics vehicles of the online supermarket at a number of delivery hubs in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Charging stations of 22 kilowatts have been installed in the delivery hub in Utrecht, a province in the Netherlands, where electric vehicles can charge simultaneously. After the launch of Crisp in Belgium in June, a total of 32 charging points will soon be installed in the Belgian distribution center in Bornem. After the completion of the locations in Utrecht and Bornem, PowerGo and Crisp will explore the possibilities for other hubs.

Fleet Charging

Since its inception in 2018, Crisp has been continuously expanding a growing electric fleet, working towards an emission-free operation. This makes PowerGo a dedicated partner that supports Crisp’s charging infrastructure with expertise in this area. Ivo van Dam, CTO of PowerGo: ”PowerGo ensures that Crisp’s electric vehicles can deliver the groceries to customers in the Netherlands and Belgium emission-free. This way of fleet charging is an increasingly important part of PowerGo. This is where PowerGo’s expertise and solutions come together in a model that works reliably and future-proof for both the fleet owner and the grid operator.”

Sustainably delivered

“We deliver fresh food from local makers to our customers without detours and as sustainably as possible,” says Stefan van den Broek, Head of Delivery at Crisp. “We do this via combined, smart routes and as far as possible with emission-free delivery transport. Currently, more than a third of the volume of orders in the Netherlands is delivered electrically. To expand this further, we consider the range of electric delivery vehicles. That is why we are building a growing number of local delivery hubs with sufficient electric charging points. This enables us to reduce journey distances and to drive as few food kilometers as possible to the customer’s front door in a CO2-neutral way.”
