This summer, PowerGo brought new chargers to several Dutch provinces. In Limburg, two charging points with a maximum capacity of 50 kW were installed at Jumbo Beek. In North Brabant, Jumbo Valkenswaard (Leenderweg), Jumbo Bakel and Jumbo Eersel also received two charging points with a maximum capacity of 50 kW. Just before summer, PowerGo completed new charging locations in Gelderland, Drenthe and Zeeland. At Jumbo Harderwijk (Nassaulaan), two charging points with a maximum capacity of 150 kW were installed. Jumbo Emmen (Wilhelminastraat) received two charging points with a maximum capacity of 50 kW, and four charging points with a maximum capacity of 90 kW are available at Jumbo Nieuwerkerk.
Since 2022, PowerGo and Jumbo collaborate on the roll out of a fast charging network. For each supermarket, PowerGo develops a tailored solution based on the surroundings, available space, expected usage, grid connection and the supermarket’s wishes. The chargers are designed in Jumbo’s recognisable brand style. PowerGo takes care of the full investment, installation and operation of the charging infrastructure.
“Together with Jumbo, we ensure more EV drivers can charge while they shop. This offers an additional service to customers. By installing chargers at places EV drivers already visit, such as supermarkets, we want to make electric driving and fast charging close to home more accessible. Anyone who simply wants to charge is also welcome to use the new fast chargers: they are publicly accessible 24 hours a day.”
Sustainability is a shared ambition for Jumbo and PowerGo and an important aspect of the fast charging network. Through Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), PowerGo matches each charging session with green electricity from Dutch solar parks owned by its parent company, PowerField.
