How does charging and payment work?

Charging and payment at PowerGo can be done in several ways. For example, with a charging card, bank card or our own PowerGo Charge app. To charge and pay using our charging stations, first choose a payment method, connect the charging cable to the vehicle and stop the charging session when done. For more detailed instructions, please visit the page: How does it work?

What are the benefits for my customers and employees?

Electric vehicle (EV) drivers generally prefer to charge at a public charging station when they make a stop for shopping or errands. That way, they don’t have to think about where to charge – they do it at your location. Additionally, EV-drivers tend to appreciate the convenience of our user-friendly charging stations, payment options, and dynamic prices for charging. Your customers can also participate in your loyalty program as they charge their vehicles.

What possibilities does PowerGo offer for communications, branding and advertising?

We offer a variety of possibilities: from a charging station designed in your corporate style, a combination of both yours and PowerGo’s corporate style, or full PowerGo branding. You can also share advertisements on our charging station screens. Everything is possible, depending on the scale of our partnership.

How can I benefit financially from a charging solution at my location?

You generate income for every kilowatt-hour charged at your location. The more customers charge, the more you earn.

What makes PowerGo the best choice for me?

PowerGo realises carefree and zero-investment charging solutions throughout Europe. We work with solar energy from our own solar parks. That combination of cost-efficiency, green energy and full service makes PowerGo the ideal partner for your business.

How does charging work?

The charging process is simple and efficient, enabling your vehicles to charge quickly and conveniently. PowerGo offers a variety of charging options, including charging cards, automatic charging through Plug&Charge, or charging with license plate recognition.

How long does it take to build the charging infrastructure?

The time frame depends upon the location and your preferences. After we sign the contract, the location analysis and planning stage takes three to five working days. Next, we apply for a grid connection and plan the installation phase, which may take six months or more, depending on the grid operator. Once the connection is approved, things can move quickly: from preparing the site, to construction and delivery, followed by monitoring. We work closely with you throughout the process, with consideration for vital factors like grid congestion, available space, building regulations, and your plans for future growth.

Can dynamic prices sometimes make charging more expensive?

On the contrary. Dynamic prices help keep costs as low as possible, especially during off-peak hours. This encourages charging when there is a surplus of clean energy available. It’s beneficial for you and good for the planet. PowerGo helps you set up your charging activities in a way that your fleet primarily charges during off-peak hours, allowing you to benefit from the lowest prices.

How do I know which charging stations I need?

Our team advises you on the optimal charging solution for your location. Together we determine which and how many charging stations are suitable, based on the possibilities and characteristics of your location.

Can I scale the number of charging stations up or down in the future?

Yes, because we’re constantly monitoring the charging stations. If necessary, PowerGo can change the number of charging stations at your location, based on the data and usage.

What does a charging solution cost?

Nothing: the whole charging solution is on our account. PowerGo funds the entire investment. You benefit as well by getting compensated for every kilowatt-hour charged at your location.

I don’t have any more grid capacity. What should I do?

No problem! PowerGo arranges its own grid connection. In addition, we can install an integrated battery system to prevent grid congestion. You won’t notice any grid-related problems from the charging solution.

Does PowerGo also handle maintenance?

Yes, PowerGo takes care of the full maintenance and management of the charging stations, including 24-hour support and monitoring. This ensures high reliability and service.

What happens in case of malfunctions?

PowerGo solves issues quickly, thanks to our support team that provides maintenance and technical assistance, often within 24 hours. This way we guarantee an uptime rate above 99%. We’re always standing by to serve you.

Can I install charging stations on leased property?

In most cases, yes. PowerGo helps to obtain the landowners’ permission and contracts for realising the charging solution.

I already have charging stations. What are the possibilities?

PowerGo can take over and manage the existing charging infrastructure. This way, we integrate or upgrade your charging stations in a new, improved solution. By doing so, you are assured that all your charging infrastructure – both old and new – is suitable for your needs and location.

Do I have insights into how much the charging stations are being used?

Yes, you have. PowerGo offers a detailed dashboard you can use to view the data in real-time. We also automatically provide monthly overviews of charging sessions and transactions.

How does PowerGo use solar energy when the sun isn’t shining?

Within the European Union, we use a Guarantee of Origin (GoO) system, which enables the trade of green energy. GoOs are official certificates that confirm electricity is derived from renewable sources, such as solar energy. PowerGo utilises solar energy by obtaining GoOs from its parent company, PowerField. This allows us to deploy solar energy whenever it is needed. So, even when the sun is not shining, we can use solar energy.

How does PowerGo utilise solar energy?

PowerGo uses the solar energy generated by our parent company PowerField through Guarantees of Origin (GoO). One GoO is the equivalent of 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy. We can prove where every kWh of energy comes from.

Doesn’t PowerGo use more electricity than PowerField generates?

Not even close! PowerField and PowerGo go hand-in-hand. Each solar park adds enough capacity to charge millions of electric kilometers. Our solar park in Wanneperveen (the Netherlands) alone generates enough power for 4,200,000 electric kilometers (at 0.15 km per kWh). The capacity of our solar parks greatly surpasses the demand for our charging stations. And it will stay that way.
